Last year, the Fire Services Department received an average of approximately 99 fire alarm calls daily. Excluding false alarms, misfires, and controlled fires, an average of about 15 fire incidents of level one or above occurred daily. Generally, fires in homes originate from appliances, electronics, charging products, or cooking stoves. Global warming also makes outdoor appliances such as air conditioners prone to overheating. If each household has small fire extinguishers, in the unfortunate event of a fire, while waiting for rescue, they can quickly attempt to extinguish it by themselves. In doing so, they can protect their own safety and property as well as minimizing the impact on neighbors and even other residents in the housing estate.
